5th Dan · Chief Instructor
Sensei Maurice is a strong, disciplined and experienced karate teacher who has trained and studied three major karate styles over more than 45 years.
He began practising karate (Kyokushin Kai) in 1970 at the age of 16, in an era with no head, fist or foot protection in sparring or competition. He then trained in Budokan Karate International (Shotokan) under Master Chew Choo Soot for around eleven years. In 1982 he moved to Shito-Ryu karate and Kobudo under Master Hayashi-Ha, and in 2004 to the lineage of Master Kenei Mabuni, under the guidance of Sensei Con Kassis.
Apart from his own competition achievements, he has produced numerous national and international competitors.

Carrying on a family tradition, Senpai Manny began his karate journey in 1998 at the age of five, practising Shito-Ryu karate and Kobudo under Master Hayashi. He achieved the rank of Black Belt Shodan in 2008.
